CIRCUIT RIDERS MOVEMENT 2020-2021 Historic Growth in a Pandemic Season
Circuit Riders is a global grassroots youth movement that seeks to
1) Save the Lost
2) Revive the Saved and
3) Train Them All
Our vision is to multiply young gospel messengers who bring the message of Jesus through preaching, music, media, and other marketplace expressions. We look to replicate the model of Jesus who empowered and sent out young disciples to do the work of the Kingdom. Likewise, we primarily focus on recruiting, training and sending young leaders to go and preach the gospel on high school and college campuses and at other public gatherings, to write songs and lead worship and to become trainers in training schools who equip their peers to go and do the same. Circuit Riders endeavors to spark another student volunteer missions movement. Our vision is to mobilize a youth “army” who live gospel-centered lives, in full surrender to Christ, following Him around the globe to see salvations, healings and lives transformed through the love and power of The Cross.
Circuit Riders was inspired by several divine encounters where the Lord highlighted the original story of the Methodist Circuit Riders and their sacrifice, impact and dedication to multiplying the message of the gospel. In 2011, we launched our first school of 300 at YWAM Kona. Later that year, a small pioneering community was led to plant in Orange County, CA and the Lord began highlighting American campuses. We started our tours in 2013, starting with 12 schools in the L.A. area, and growing to 300 campuses over the United States, Canada and Europe by the spring of 2019. Circuit Rider Media and Music were also born in the past 5 years. There are now around 200 Circuit Rider missionaries living in Huntington Beach, CA who work full-time on the various programs and initiatives listed below.
List of Circuit Rider Programs:
- Carry the Love – reaching university students around the world with the gospel of Jesus and calling them into missions.
- Training Schools – CRX, 21 Project and Field Training are different schools we run each year to equip young leaders in the Word to live like Jesus.
- Circuit Rider Media
- Circuit Rider Music
- Brave Love – global women’s movement empowering young women to live lives
of activated love and mission.
- CR Youth – initiatives geared towards middle and high school students
- Greenhouse – Online prayer and worship sessions
Before the pandemic hit, from January to March 2020, we were able to gather almost 30,000 high school and college students at different events across America and in Europe where the gospel was preached. We saw over 2,000 salvations and 374 healings in just 5 weeks. With our remaining tour cancelled due to Covid-19, we continued to minister and inspire students online.
On April 6, 2020 we did a “Carry the Love Online Broadcast” which saw 1500 registered students participating across America and Europe. On Sept 25-26, 2020 we held an interactive two day “Carry the Love Online Summit” which saw 869 students from over 20 countries, representing Europe, Africa and the Americas.
This fall of 2020, we did a modified version of our Carry the Love tour called “Wave 1” across America. We did all outdoor events or indoor events in oversized venues where students could adequately social distance and wear masks. We gathered approximately 4,000 students with over 100 salvations and over 65 healings.
For European university students, we faithfully did weekly Zoom Bible studies and “Regional Online Gatherings” for the British Isles, Western Europe, Eastern Europe & Scandinavia. Through active grassroots networking and the use of social media, we were able to expand our reach into Europe and now have invitations from 20 nations to do in-person Carry the Love gatherings in 2021, up from 11 nations in January of 2020. The awareness of Circuit Riders and the message of Jesus that we carry only grew during travel restrictions and our inability to get to our European friends.
For African university students and young leaders, we cultivated a deeper friendship with a network named Kubamba whom we had met before the pandemic while running a 21 Project Leadership School in Nairobi. Kubamba has 1.9 million daily listeners through both their radio and TV programs. They have asked us to incorporate the Carry the Love message and training into their current college ministry to 60 universities in order to equip and activate all Africans as carriers of the gospel. This new partnership has the potential to sweep Africa with the message of outward focused biblical love and action that changes culture.
In spite of the pandemic, we now have a greater following of students in cities and nations around the world that would have taken us years to do in person. We are launching an online “Carry the Love Accelerator Course” in 2021 which will equip students to form “Action Groups” right where they are in order to impact their campus and community with the power of the gospel. We are believing for a viral Carry the Love student volunteer missions movement that sees students around the world trained and activated to help bring in a global harvest of souls.
B. Circuit Rider Training Schools:
We held our first online 21 Project training school on August 10-15, 2020 and had record attendance for one of these schools with 385 students participating from 34 nations. We had representation from Africa, Europe, the Americas and Singapore representing Asia. For the first time, we trained students in Zimbabwe, Rwanda, Puerto Rico, Nicaragua, Burundi, the British Virgin Islands, Peru & Bolivia.
Looking ahead to summer 2021, we are already planning 21 Project Leadership Training Schools at 3 locations in the U.S. (Kansas City, Orange County and Kona, HI), in London and Nairobi. We anticipate our student numbers to be larger than ever before as our online following continues to grow.
This fall of 2020, we also ran our 9 month Discipleship Training Course called “Circuit Rider Experience” (CRX) with 67 students who all moved to Huntington Beach, CA during this pandemic season. Classes were held outside in a park but the students whom God sent us seemed more full of bravery, faith and conviction than ever before. They are headed out to do a 6 week outreach in January 2021.
C. Circuit Rider Media:
Our CR Media team spent hundreds of hours completing a new platform called Circuit Riders TV www.circuitriders.tv On this platform, our global youth following can access worship, prayer sets, messages and even entire courses that are designed to activate and equip them to live the lifestyle of Jesus and bring a culture of revival. We currently have 2 courses uploaded as of this writing (Nov 2020) but will be uploading more content in coming months.
D. Circuit Rider Music:
Circuit Riders just signed with Capitol Records for the next 3 years. Capitol’s partnership will greatly increase the distribution of our newest album which is about to be released called, “Circuit Riders Jesus People” recorded in January 2020. CR Music currently has 4 other album projects in development that will also be distributed by Capitol Records. Our long-term goal is to multiply 1,000 grassroots bands across the nations who are all carrying the sound of missions and singing the songs of “Go.”
E. Brave Love:
This movement seeks to tell the story of catalytic women from Scripture who affected nations. Its primary focus is to raise up women on mission who will bring practical solution based on the reality of Christ’s love and justice to needs around the world. A scheduled Brave Love women’s gathering in May was expected to have around 120 attend, but when Covid forced us online, we instead saw 800 participants from around the world. From this Brave Love Summit, we did a Brave Love Bible study for 19 weeks and regularly saw around 400 women participate each week.
On CircuitRiders.TV we launched a “Brave Love Accelerator Course” which saw 1800 women from 33 countries sign up to take the classes. Women from the Middle East in Jordan and Egypt all the way to the Pacific Islands in Fiji and Vanuatu are engaging in these online sessions that challenge women to walk out the love of Jesus in practical action. The primary outcome from the Brave Love Accelerator Course are “Brave Love Expressions.” We have 78 women confirmed so far who are planning local expressions to demonstrate the love of Christ in such ways as evangelism, advocacy, missions, and contending for healing. These women have said “Yes” to gathering and activating women to live on a mission in their campus, church, or community. There are 279 additional women who have also expressed interest that are currently being coached into action.
F. CR Youth:
Unable to go to middle and high schools, we developed a CR Youth online platform that featured weekly online broadcasts of worship and teaching geared towards youth. We are developing high school age worship leaders who are writing songs to reach their generation and we will be recording a CR Youth Album in 2021.
Our CR Youth team was led to TikTok to preach the gospel and give short teachings on a range of Bible subjects like faith, healing, hearing God’s voice, salvation, etc. One video got 200,000 views! We are flooding TikTok with messages of truth that bring light and hope to isolated youth in this pandemic season. The response to all of these online youth initiatives is a growing following of high schools students that we will be able to call to in-person events upon starting our tours in 2021.
This new initiative launched during the pandemic. It is our online House of Prayer where weekly worship and prayer sets are broadcast to connect viewers to the presence of God and to His Word. Through the Greenhouse we continue to develop our Circuit Rider worship leaders and bands and together go deeper into seeking God first above all else. These sets are being recorded and are currently available on Youtube but eventually will be uploaded to CircuitRiders.TV. We have viewers from around the world tuning in to encounter God.
Circuit Riders has partnered with Messenger Fellowhip, c/o Steve Fry to provide classes and ordination to 50 young ministers within Circuit Riders.
I. CR Institute:
Circuit Riders will be offering a fully accredited Associates Degree in Biblical Studies, Religion, and Applied Christian Ministry through the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (TRACS). This degree will be transferable to any private Christian college or public state school. Our Goal is to obtain our provisional pre-candidate status approval in April 2021 which will allow us to start offering missionaries and students with Circuit Riders credits towards their Associates Degree. We plan to put all our training onto an online platform so that anyone around the globe can pursue the whole degree online.
